Serow

This odd-looking creature with a goat –like body and donkey-like ears, stands about 3.5ft at the shoulder. The Serow has a stocky body, thick neck, large head and ears and short limbs. Its horns are stout and conical, pointed backwards and present in both sexes. Serows are generally colored black or reddish chestnut with white on their limbs. Mostly solitary they can be found between 1800 and 3000m.Since the serow is related to the goat, it possesses the same ability to jump from rocks and climb steep areas. In addition it has the special ability of climbing trees that grow on the cliffs. When alarmed the serow emits a hiss or whistling scream and bounds away.
