Mahabalipuram located about 60 km from Chennai lies beautifully along the beach on the Bay of Bengal coast. The Mahabalipuram beaches have a charm of their own. You can relax or visit the villages where families are engaged in stone and wood carving.

Mahabalipuram boasts of unbelievably beautiful temple structures. The beautiful Shore temple with its Pallava architecture stands out. It is simply poetry in stone. You can see the Varaha cave with four panels of the famous Pallava doorkeepers and Krishna’s butterball. These temples were built during the reign of the Chola king, Ram Raja and Rajendra Chola.
