For centuries Mount Abu has been to royalty in Rajasthan what Shimla had been to the British and is a summer retreat even today of the state Governor. There is hardly any snowfall except for the thin layer of ice that freezes over the Naqqi Lake and over the southern reaches of Aravalli range.
