Pollibetta is best known for the Tata coffee plantations and the old estate houses which were earlier occupied by British estate managers. Called the Scotland of India, Pollibetta is a tourist’s paradise.Enroute is the Dubare Reserve Forest where an elephant training camp occupies an important place. Adventure lovers can trek around Thadiyandamol the highest peak in Coorg and also fish in certain areas of the Cauvery after obtaining licenses from the Coorg Wildlife Society. Other interesting places are Abbey and Irruppu falls where the gushing clear waters are a pure delight. You can also visit Bylakuppe Monastery. One of the largest Tibetan settlements in India, the golden statues of the Buddha is magnificent.
