Sangla Valley

Sangla valley is located in Kinnaur district at 2.679 m in Himachal Pradesh. Dominated by the snow-clad Kinner Kailash peak, the valley is thickly forested with tall deodars and pine trees. The tiny hamlet of Sangla is spread along Baspa among fields of buckwheat and Apple orchards. The impressive Kamru Fort of Rajas of Rampur is perched on a hillock above the valley. The Baspa River is home to both the rainbow and brown tout. Go river crossing and angling with a permit. Options for staying are very limited so it is important to plan the stay in advance. The best time to visit is from June to September.

Air: The nearest airport is Shimla.
Road: From Shimla to Karchham on NH22 and then to Sangla valley.
